Since the Trust did not have any Capital Funding when it was founded as a registered Scottish Charity in 2006, the extent of its grants has been limited by the funds it has been able to raise.
Since the majority of the funds raised by The Trust came from three Biennial Grand Tennis Balls at The Prestwick Tennis and Fitness Club in 2004/2006/2008, and more recently from the Wimbledon Foundation, most of the Grants to date have been made to Tennis and Fitness related projects.
Fitness Industry “Adopt a School” Program
Children in their last year at Primary from a cross section of South Ayrshire schools were transported by bus during curriculum time to Prestwick Tennis & Fitness Club for 45 minutes strenuous physical activity, including tennis, mini tennis and badminton, followed by a healthy fruit snack and a drink.
Disability Tennis and Wheelchair Tennis Program
Grants from The Trust have funded an expansion of this program at Prestwick Tennis & Fitness Club.
Grants to elite Junior Tennis, Badminton and Table Tennis players
Grants have been made to talented juniors to give them the opportunity to have their talent developed to its fullest potential.
